Strength exercise
Shoulder Internal Rotation (Cable)
How to do it
- Set a cable pulley to about elbow height and attach a single handle, standing sideways to the machine with the working arm closest to it.
- Grip the handle and tuck the working elbow against the side, bent to roughly 90 degrees, forearm across the body.
- Brace the core to keep the torso still, then rotate the forearm across the body away from the cable stack.
- Pause briefly once the forearm reaches the midline without the elbow drifting forward off the ribs.
- Return the forearm slowly back out to the starting position under control for each repetition.
- Exhale on the rotation in and avoid twisting the torso or hips to assist the movement.
