Strength exercise
Rotator Cuff Internal Rotation
How to do it
- Anchor a resistance band at elbow height and stand sideways to it, holding the band in the hand closest to the anchor.
- Tuck the elbow of the working arm against your side and bend it to roughly 90 degrees.
- Keeping the elbow pinned to your ribs, rotate the forearm inward across the body to work the rotator cuff.
- Pause briefly once the forearm reaches your midline without the elbow swinging backward.
- Exhale during the rotation in and inhale as you return the forearm slowly back out for each repetition.
- Avoid rotating through the shoulder or torso to substitute for the forearm movement.
