Cardio exercise

Running (Trail)

How to do it

  1. Choose a trail route with natural terrain such as dirt, roots, or loose gravel.
  2. Shorten the stride slightly and keep the eyes scanning a few strides ahead for footing hazards.
  3. Bend the knees a touch more than on pavement to absorb uneven ground and quick direction changes.
  4. Drive through the quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves while adjusting cadence for climbs and descents.
  5. Use the arms for balance on technical sections rather than a strict forward-back swing.
  6. Breathe steadily and ease the pace on technical terrain rather than forcing a fixed rhythm.
