Cardio exercise

Running

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with the chest open and the eyes looking forward toward the running path.
  2. Begin at an easy jogging pace, landing lightly under the hips with each stride.
  3. Drive the arms in a relaxed forward-and-back swing at roughly 90 degrees at the elbow.
  4. Push off through the balls of the feet, working the quadriceps, hamstrings, and calves with each stride.
  5. Settle into a steady, sustainable cadence appropriate for the intended distance.
  6. Breathe in a consistent rhythm and avoid overstriding out in front of the hips.
