Strength exercise
Ring Rollout
How to do it
- Kneel on a mat with a set of gymnastic rings adjusted to hover just above the floor and grip a ring in each hand.
- Brace the core and lean forward, extending the arms and rolling the rings out in front of the body.
- Keep the hips extended and the torso in a straight line from knees to shoulders as the rings travel outward.
- Let the core control the descent, stopping the rollout at the farthest point that can be controlled with a flat spine.
- Pull the rings back in by drawing the arms down and back, engaging the core to return to the upright kneeling position.
- Reset the shoulders and hips before starting the next repetition rather than rocking to build momentum.
