Strength exercise

Reverse Hyperextension (Bodyweight)

How to do it

  1. Lie face down on a hyperextension bench with the hips at the edge and the legs hanging free.
  2. Grip the handles or bench pads firmly to anchor the upper body in place.
  3. Brace the core and squeeze the glutes to raise both legs together until they reach hip height.
  4. Keep the knees softly extended and avoid arching the lower back excessively at the top of the movement.
  5. Lower the legs with control back to the starting hang to complete one repetition.
  6. Keep the motion driven by the gluteus maximus and lower back rather than swinging the legs for momentum.
