Strength exercise

Preacher Curl

How to do it

  1. Sit at the preacher bench with the back of the upper arms flat against the pad, gripping an EZ-bar or barbell with hands shoulder width apart.
  2. Fully extend the arms so the biceps stretch at the bottom without letting the shoulders round forward.
  3. Curl the bar up by contracting the biceps, keeping the upper arms pinned to the pad.
  4. Squeeze the biceps hard at the top of the curl for a one count.
  5. Lower the bar back down over two counts, resisting the weight the whole way.
  6. Avoid lifting the upper arms off the pad to finish the rep.
