Strength exercise

Plate Pinch Walk

How to do it

  1. Set two weight plates smooth sides facing out on the floor beside each foot and squat down to pinch one pair in each hand.
  2. Stand tall with the plates held at the sides, shoulders back and core braced before taking the first step.
  3. Walk forward with short, controlled steps, keeping the torso upright and avoiding any side-to-side sway.
  4. Let the forearm flexors maintain the pinch grip while the core holds the trunk steady against the swinging load.
  5. Breathe steadily in rhythm with the steps rather than holding the breath.
  6. Set the plates down under control at the end of the walking distance instead of dropping them.
