Strength exercise
Plank (Knee to Elbow)
How to do it
- Set up in a high plank with the hands under the shoulders and the body in a straight line from head to heels.
- Brace the core and shift weight slightly onto the opposite hand and foot to free one leg.
- Draw one knee forward and across the body toward the elbow, rounding through the trunk to bring them close.
- Return the foot back to the starting plank position under control, resetting a stable base before the next side.
- Alternate sides at a controlled pace, keeping the hips low and level rather than piking upward as the knee drives in.
- Continue for the prescribed time while breathing steadily; rushing the knee drive and letting the hips rise is the most common fault to correct.
