Strength exercise
Plank Jack
How to do it
- Set up in a high plank with hands under your shoulders and feet together, core braced and body in a straight line.
- Keeping your upper body still, jump both feet out wide to the sides.
- Immediately jump both feet back together to return to the starting plank stance.
- Keep your hips level throughout each jump so they do not pike up or sag toward the floor.
- Land softly on the balls of your feet and keep a steady breathing rhythm as you repeat the jumps for the work duration.
- A common fault is letting the hips sway side to side, so keep the core braced and the shoulders stacked over the wrists.
