Strength exercise
Medicine Ball V-up
How to do it
- Lie flat on your back with arms extended overhead, holding the medicine ball with both hands, and legs straight out on the floor.
- Brace the core before lifting the arms and legs off the floor at the same time.
- Fold the body at the hips, raising the straight legs and the ball together to meet above the midline in a V shape.
- Touch the ball toward your shins or feet at the top, working the abdominal muscles through the full fold.
- Exhale as you fold up into the V and inhale as you lower the arms and legs back down together with control.
- Keep the lower back from arching as the legs lower back down, since letting the back arch is the common fault in this exercise.
