Strength exercise

Medicine Ball Twist (Seated)

How to do it

  1. Sit on the floor with knees bent and heels lightly touching the ground, holding a medicine ball with both hands in front of your chest.
  2. Lift your chest and keep a long, neutral spine rather than rounding the back.
  3. Brace the core and rotate the torso to bring the ball beside one hip.
  4. Rotate back through center to the opposite hip, letting the ball travel in a smooth, controlled arc.
  5. Keep the hips facing forward so the twist comes from the torso rather than the lower back.
  6. Move at a steady, even tempo, breathing out with each rotation.
