Strength exercise

Medicine Ball Toe Touch

How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with legs raised straight toward the ceiling, holding the medicine ball with both hands above your chest.
  2. Brace the core and press your lower back gently into the floor before starting the reach.
  3. Curl the shoulders off the floor and reach the ball up toward your toes, working the abdominal muscles through the top of the movement.
  4. Pause briefly at the top near your toes, then lower the shoulders and ball back down under control without resting fully between reps.
  5. Exhale as you reach up toward the toes and inhale as you lower back down.
  6. Keep the legs steady and vertical rather than letting them drop as you reach, since sagging legs are the common fault in this movement.
