Strength exercise

Lat Pulldown Machine (Close Grip)

How to do it

  1. Sit at the lat pulldown machine and secure the thighs under the pad with feet flat on the floor.
  2. Grip the close grip attachment with hands a few inches apart, palms facing each other.
  3. Lean back slightly and pull the handle down toward the upper chest, driving the elbows down and back.
  4. Squeeze the lats at the bottom of the movement, keeping the shoulders down away from the ears.
  5. Slowly extend the arms back up to a full stretch while keeping tension in the lats.
  6. Keep the torso still and avoid yanking the handle down primarily with the biceps.
