Strength exercise
Chin-up (Wide Grip)
How to do it
- Grip the pull-up bar with palms facing you, hands set wider than shoulder width.
- Hang with arms fully extended and shoulders pulled down away from your ears.
- Brace your core to keep your torso stable and prevent excessive swinging.
- Pull your chest toward the bar by driving your elbows down and slightly out, working the lats, biceps, and forearm flexors through the wider grip.
- Exhale as you pull up and inhale as you lower under control back to a dead hang.
- Avoid stopping short of full arm extension at the bottom; complete the full range on every rep.
