Strength exercise

Kettlebell Romanian Deadlift (Double)

How to do it

  1. Hold a kettlebell in each hand in front of the thighs and stand with feet hip width apart.
  2. Keep both kettlebells close to the legs with a neutral grip and a slight, fixed knee bend.
  3. Brace the core and pull the shoulders back before hinging.
  4. Push the hips back and lower both kettlebells along the thighs, keeping the back flat as the lower back, glutes, and hamstrings (biceps femoris) stretch until tension is felt behind the thighs.
  5. Inhale during the hinge back, exhale driving the hips forward to standing.
  6. Avoid rounding the lower back to reach further down; stop the descent once the hamstrings reach their limit.
