Strength exercise

Kettlebell Pullover

How to do it

  1. Lie on a bench or the floor holding a kettlebell by the horns with both hands above the chest.
  2. Keep the arms slightly bent and lower the kettlebell in an arc behind the head until the upper arms are in line with the torso.
  3. Lower until the latissimus dorsi and chest load through the extended position, then reverse the arc back over the chest.
  4. Brace the core to keep the ribs from flaring upward as the kettlebell lowers behind the head.
  5. Inhale during the lowering phase and exhale while pulling the kettlebell back over the chest.
  6. Keep the movement slow and controlled through both directions rather than letting the arms drop quickly.
