Strength exercise
Kettlebell Overhead Squat
How to do it
- Press a single kettlebell overhead with a locked elbow and stack it directly above your shoulder before you begin.
- Set your feet shoulder width apart and brace your shoulder, core, and hips to keep the kettlebell stable overhead.
- Bend your knees and push your hips back to descend into a squat while keeping the kettlebell locked out above you.
- Lower until your thighs are near parallel, tracking your knees over your toes and keeping your torso as upright as the load allows.
- Drive through your heels to stand, exhaling as you extend your hips and knees while keeping the kettlebell stacked overhead.
- Avoid letting the kettlebell drift forward or your working side shoulder round as fatigue builds.
