Strength exercise
Band Front Squat
How to do it
- Stand on the center of a resistance band with the feet shoulder width apart and loop the ends over the front of the shoulders.
- Hold the band ends against the shoulders with the elbows pointed forward in a front rack position.
- Brace the core and reach the hips back and down while keeping the torso upright against the band tension.
- Lower until the thighs reach at least parallel, keeping the knees tracking over the toes throughout.
- Drive through the heels, extending the quadriceps and gluteus maximus, to press against the increasing band resistance.
- Keep the band tension constant and avoid letting the torso pitch forward as the legs extend.
