Strength exercise

Kettlebell Hammer Curl

How to do it

  1. Stand holding a kettlebell in each hand by the handle with a neutral, palms-facing-in grip, feet shoulder-width apart.
  2. Let both kettlebells hang at your sides at a full stretch, keeping your elbows tucked close to your ribs.
  3. Brace your core and keep your torso still, resisting any urge to lean back as you lift.
  4. Curl both kettlebells up toward your shoulders while keeping your palms facing each other the entire time, working the biceps and brachialis through the neutral grip.
  5. Exhale as you curl up and inhale as you lower the kettlebells back down under control.
  6. Keep the kettlebells close to your body throughout; letting them swing away from your torso reduces control of the lift.
