Strength exercise
Incline Hammer Curl
How to do it
- Sit back on an incline bench set to roughly 45 degrees and let both arms hang straight down at your sides, holding a dumbbell in each hand with a neutral, palms-in grip.
- Keep your shoulders pinned against the pad so your arms hang slightly behind your torso for a deep stretch at the bottom.
- Brace your core and press your back into the bench to stop your shoulders rounding forward.
- Curl both dumbbells up toward your shoulders while keeping your palms facing each other, working the biceps and brachialis through the neutral grip.
- Exhale as you curl up and inhale as you lower the dumbbells back to the stretched position under control.
- Keep your elbows fixed at your sides throughout; letting them drift forward turns tension away from the target muscles.
