Hanging L-Raise

How to do it

  1. Hang from a pull-up bar with an overhand grip slightly wider than shoulder-width, arms fully extended.
  2. Brace the core and keep the legs straight and together before beginning the raise.
  3. Lift the straight legs forward and up until they form an L shape with the torso, driving through the lower core.
  4. Hold the legs briefly at the top with the knees locked and toes pointed forward.
  5. Lower the legs back down slowly under control rather than letting them drop.
  6. Exhale while raising the legs and inhale while lowering, avoiding the common fault of bending the knees to make the raise easier.
