Flexibility exercise
Hamstring Stretch (Seated)
How to do it
- Sit on the floor with one leg extended straight ahead and the other bent so the sole of that foot rests against the inner thigh.
- Square your hips and shoulders toward the extended leg before you begin.
- Hinge forward from the hips with a flat back, reaching both hands toward the foot of the extended leg.
- Stop the forward reach once you feel a stretch along the back of the extended thigh, keeping the lower back long rather than rounded.
- Breathe evenly and hold the position for 20 to 30 seconds.
- Sit back up slowly and switch the extended leg to the other side.
