Flexibility exercise

Hamstring Stretch

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet hip width apart and knees straight but not locked.
  2. Bring the feet close together or cross one foot slightly in front of the other, then hinge forward from the hips.
  3. Let both hands reach down toward the shins, ankles, or floor, allowing the head and neck to relax downward.
  4. Ease down only as far as the hips allow, feeling a stretch through the back of both thighs.
  5. Breathe steadily, exhaling as you settle a little deeper into the fold with each breath.
  6. Hold the position for 20 to 30 seconds, then roll up slowly through the spine to release.
