Strength exercise

Barbell Good Morning

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet hip-width apart and a barbell resting across the upper back, gripping the bar wider than shoulder-width.
  2. Unlock the knees slightly, keeping a soft, fixed bend throughout the movement.
  3. Brace the core and lift the chest before starting the hinge.
  4. Hinge forward at the hips, pushing the hips back and lowering the torso while feeling a stretch through the biceps femoris.
  5. Inhale during the descent and exhale while driving the hips forward to return upright.
  6. Avoid rounding the lower back or letting the bar drift away from the body during the hinge.
