Strength exercise

Glute Bridge (Banded)

How to do it

  1. Loop a resistance band around your thighs just above the knees and lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat on the floor.
  2. Set the feet hip width apart and press the knees slightly outward against the band to keep tension throughout the movement.
  3. Brace the core and drive through the heels, lifting the hips off the floor by squeezing the gluteus maximus.
  4. Rise until the body forms a straight line from shoulders to knees, holding the top position briefly with the glutes fully contracted.
  5. Exhale as you lift the hips and inhale as you lower back down under control without letting the band pull the knees inward.
  6. Lower the hips just short of the floor between reps to keep tension on the glutes throughout the set.
