Strength exercise

Glute Bridge

How to do it

  1. Lie on the back with the knees bent and feet flat on the floor, heels a few inches from the glutes.
  2. Rest the arms flat on the floor at the sides for stability and brace the core.
  3. Drive through the heels to lift the hips up, squeezing the glutes hard at the top of the movement.
  4. Reach a straight line from the shoulders to the knees at the top without overarching the lower back.
  5. Lower the hips back down over a 3 count until they lightly tap the floor.
  6. Keep the ribs pulled down throughout so the lower back does not take over from the glutes.
