Strength exercise

Finger Curl

How to do it

  1. Sit and rest your forearms along your thighs or a flat bench with your wrists just past your knees, letting the weight rest across the base of your open fingers.
  2. Allow your fingers to uncurl and the weight to roll down toward your fingertips until you feel a full stretch through your grip.
  3. Press your forearms firmly into your thighs and keep your wrists straight so the movement stays isolated to your fingers.
  4. Curl your fingers closed around the weight, rolling it back up into your palms to work the forearm and grip muscles.
  5. Exhale as you curl your fingers closed and inhale as you let the weight unroll back down slowly.
  6. Keep your wrists locked in a neutral position throughout; bending them to assist the curl shifts work away from the fingers.
