Strength exercise
Finger Curl
How to do it
- Sit and rest your forearms along your thighs or a flat bench with your wrists just past your knees, letting the weight rest across the base of your open fingers.
- Allow your fingers to uncurl and the weight to roll down toward your fingertips until you feel a full stretch through your grip.
- Press your forearms firmly into your thighs and keep your wrists straight so the movement stays isolated to your fingers.
- Curl your fingers closed around the weight, rolling it back up into your palms to work the forearm and grip muscles.
- Exhale as you curl your fingers closed and inhale as you let the weight unroll back down slowly.
- Keep your wrists locked in a neutral position throughout; bending them to assist the curl shifts work away from the fingers.
