Strength exercise
Dumbbell Lunges
How to do it
- Stand tall holding a dumbbell in each hand at the sides, feet hip width apart.
- Step forward with one leg about 2 feet, lowering the hips until both knees reach roughly 90 degrees.
- Keep the front knee stacked over the ankle and the back knee hovering just above the floor.
- Feel the load through the front quad and a stretch through the rear leg's hamstring and hip.
- Push through the front heel to drive back to the starting position, keeping the torso upright throughout.
- Alternate legs each rep or complete all reps on one side, keeping the dumbbells still at the sides.
