Strength exercise
Dumbbell Incline Curl
How to do it
- Sit back on an incline bench set to roughly 45 degrees and let both arms hang straight down at your sides, holding a dumbbell in each hand.
- Allow your shoulders to stay pinned against the pad so your arms hang slightly behind your torso for a deep stretch at the bottom.
- Press your back into the bench and brace your core to stop your shoulders rounding forward as you lift.
- Curl both dumbbells up toward your shoulders while keeping your elbows fixed at your sides, squeezing the biceps at the top.
- Exhale as you curl up and inhale as you lower the dumbbells back to the stretched position under control.
- Resist the urge to let your elbows drift forward or your shoulders lift off the pad, which shortens the stretch this angle relies on.
