Strength exercise

Dumbbell Curl

How to do it

  1. Stand tall with feet hip width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand with the palms facing forward.
  2. Pin the elbows to the sides of the torso and keep the shoulders still throughout the movement.
  3. Curl the dumbbells up toward the shoulders by flexing the biceps, keeping the wrists straight.
  4. Squeeze the biceps hard at the top of the curl for a brief pause.
  5. Lower the dumbbells back down over a 3 count until the arms are fully extended.
  6. Keep the torso still and avoid swinging the hips to sling the weight upward.
