Strength exercise
Dragon Flag
How to do it
- Lie on your back on a sturdy elevated surface and grip behind your head for a fixed anchor point.
- Brace the core and lift the hips and legs off the surface until only the upper back and shoulders remain in contact.
- Keep the entire body in one straight line from shoulders to feet as you lower slowly toward the surface.
- Stop just before the hips or legs touch down, then reverse the motion back to the raised position.
- Exhale as you lift and inhale as you lower under control.
- A common fault is letting the hips sag or bend at the waist, keep the line rigid from shoulders to feet throughout.
