Strength exercise
Crunch (Stability Ball)
How to do it
- Sit on a stability ball and walk your feet forward until your lower back and hips rest on the curve of the ball.
- Plant your feet flat on the floor at hip width and rest your fingertips lightly behind your head.
- Brace the core and curl your torso upward, keeping the ball stable beneath your lower back throughout the range.
- Extend back over the curve of the ball at the bottom to lengthen the range before curling again.
- Exhale as you curl up and inhale as you lower back over the ball.
- A common fault is letting the ball roll or the hips sag, keep the feet and hips locked in place throughout.
