Strength exercise

Crunch (Reverse)

How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with arms flat at your sides and knees bent to roughly 90 degrees, shins parallel to the floor.
  2. Brace the core and curl your hips off the floor by drawing your knees toward your chest.
  3. Lift only through the lower abdomen, keeping the motion small and controlled rather than swinging the legs.
  4. Pause briefly at the top before lowering the hips back down with control.
  5. Exhale as you curl the hips up and inhale as you lower them back down.
  6. A common fault is using momentum to swing the legs, keep the movement slow and driven by the core.
