Strength exercise

Cross Crunch

How to do it

  1. Lie on your back with knees bent and feet flat, fingertips resting lightly behind your head without pulling on the neck.
  2. Lift one knee toward your chest while curling the opposite shoulder across your body to meet it, engaging the core through the rotation.
  3. Pause briefly at the point where elbow and knee are closest, feeling the effort concentrated through the midsection.
  4. Lower back under control and extend the working leg without letting it drop to the floor.
  5. Exhale as you curl and rotate, inhale as you return to the starting position.
  6. Alternate sides for the set, a common fault is yanking on the head instead of driving the movement from the torso.
