Strength exercise

Cable Press

How to do it

  1. Set a cable pulley to chest height and kneel in a half kneeling stance with the outside knee down, facing slightly away from the machine.
  2. Grip the handle with the near hand at chest height and take up the slack until the cable is taut.
  3. Brace the core and press the handle straight out from the chest until the arm is fully extended.
  4. Resist the cable's rotational pull, keeping the hips and shoulders square to the front throughout the press.
  5. Pause briefly at full extension, then draw the handle back to the chest under control.
  6. Complete all repetitions on one side, then switch the kneeling leg and grip hand to repeat on the other side.
