Strength exercise
Cable Crunch
How to do it
- Kneel below a high pulley and grasp the rope attachment with both hands, resting the ends near your ears or forehead.
- Set your hips stacked over your knees and brace your core before you begin the movement.
- Curl your torso downward by rounding the spine and drawing your ribs toward your hips, flexing through the core.
- Pause briefly at the bottom before slowly returning to the upright kneeling position, keeping the hips still throughout.
- Exhale sharply as you crunch down and inhale as you uncurl back to the start.
- Avoid pulling with the arms or hinging at the hips; the movement should come from spinal flexion alone.
