Strength exercise
Butt Kicks
How to do it
- Stand tall with feet hip width apart and arms bent at the elbows, ready to jog in place.
- Jog in place while kicking each heel up toward the glutes in quick alternating fashion.
- Keep the knees pointing down toward the floor rather than driving forward, isolating the hamstring curl motion behind the thigh.
- Land lightly on the balls of the feet, letting the quadriceps control the leg's return to the ground.
- Keep a quick, steady cadence and breathe rhythmically with each kick cycle.
- Avoid leaning the torso backward to compensate, a common fault that reduces the heel to glute range of motion.
