Strength exercise

Ab Wheel Rollout (Standing)

How to do it

  1. Stand with feet hip-width apart and hold the ab wheel handles with the wheel resting on the floor in front of your feet.
  2. Hinge forward from the hips and brace the core hard before letting the wheel begin to roll.
  3. Roll the wheel forward while keeping the legs as straight as the movement allows and the hips driving the extension.
  4. Extend out as far as you can control without the hips dropping or the lower back rounding excessively.
  5. Reverse the roll by driving the hips back and pulling the wheel toward the feet using the abdominals.
  6. Stand only once the wheel returns fully under the shoulders, keeping the effort continuous throughout the rep.
