Flexibility exercise
World's Greatest Stretch (Single Side)
How to do it
- Step into a long lunge with one foot forward and both hands on the floor inside the front foot.
- Square the back hip forward and keep the back knee off the floor, with the front shin close to vertical.
- Rest the same side elbow lightly toward the inside of the front foot to settle into the position.
- Rotate the torso and reach the opposite arm toward the ceiling, opening the chest away from the front leg.
- Breathe steadily and hold the rotated position for 20 to 30 seconds, feeling a stretch through the hip flexor and inner thigh of the front leg.
- Lower the raised arm, place the hand back beside the front foot, and return to the starting lunge position to release.
