Strength exercise
TRX Squat
How to do it
- Face the suspension trainer anchor point, hold a handle in each hand, and set the straps to roughly waist length with light tension.
- Stand with feet shoulder width apart and lean back slightly into the straps to counterbalance the squat.
- Sit the hips back and down while keeping the arms extended and the tension in the straps steady throughout.
- Descend until the thighs reach parallel, feeling the quadriceps, glutes, and core control the movement.
- Drive through the whole foot to stand, using the straps only for balance rather than to pull the body upright.
- Exhale near the top and keep the core braced so the torso does not pitch forward or back.
