Strength exercise
Trap Bar Deadlift
How to do it
- Stand inside the trap bar with feet hip width apart, mid-foot centered between the handles.
- Hinge at the hips and bend the knees to grip the handles at the sides, keeping the chest up and the back flat.
- Brace the core and set the shoulders slightly ahead of the handles before pulling.
- Drive through the heels, extending the hips and knees together to stand, working the hamstrings, back, and quadriceps.
- Lock out tall at the top, squeezing the glutes without leaning back.
- Lower the weight by hinging at the hips first, then bending the knees, keeping the handles close to the body the whole way down.
