Step Aerobics

How to do it

  1. Place an aerobic step platform on the floor and stand facing it with feet hip width apart.
  2. Step up leading with one foot, driving through the quadriceps and gluteus maximus to lift the body onto the platform.
  3. Follow with the trailing foot and tap the platform before stepping back down under control.
  4. Push off through the calves on the descent to keep the movement light rather than stomping down.
  5. Alternate the lead foot and add arm swings to match the choreography and keep intensity up.
  6. Keep the core braced and posture upright, breathing rhythmically with the step pattern for the length of the routine.
