Strength exercise
Star Jump
How to do it
- Start standing with feet together and arms down at your sides in a slight quarter squat.
- Dip the knees and hips briefly to load the legs before the jump.
- Explosively jump upward, driving through the quadriceps, glutes, and calves while spreading the arms and legs out into a star shape.
- Reach full extension at the peak of the jump with the limbs spread wide.
- Land softly with the feet back together and knees bent to absorb the impact.
- Exhale on the jump upward and keep the landing quiet and controlled before starting the next rep.
