Cardio exercise

Stair Climber

How to do it

  1. Step onto the machine and set a slow starting pace, gripping the side rails lightly for balance only.
  2. Press through the full foot on each step, driving through the quadriceps and gluteus maximus to lift the body upward.
  3. Extend through the ankle at the top of each step to bring the calves into the push.
  4. Keep the torso upright and avoid leaning on the handrails so the legs carry the load.
  5. Take full steps rather than short, rapid taps to keep the movement controlled.
  6. Increase the step rate gradually to reach the target effort level and breathe steadily through the climb.
