Strength exercise

Single Leg Bound

How to do it

  1. Start standing on one leg with a slight bend in the knee and hip, arms cocked back and ready to drive.
  2. Load the standing leg by sinking the hip back and down while keeping the chest up.
  3. Explosively extend the hip, knee, and ankle to drive off the ground, swinging the arms forward for momentum.
  4. Land on the same leg with a soft, bent knee, absorbing the impact through the quadriceps, glutes, and calves.
  5. Stabilize for a moment before driving into the next bound, keeping the torso upright throughout.
  6. Exhale sharply on each takeoff and reset your stance if balance is lost before continuing the set.
