Flexibility exercise
Shoulder Stretch (Overhead)
How to do it
- Stand or sit tall and interlace the fingers in front of the body with palms facing away.
- Raise both arms overhead in one smooth motion, straightening the elbows as the arms reach toward the ceiling.
- Rotate the palms fully upward once the arms are overhead, reaching a little taller through the fingertips.
- Feel a stretch through both shoulders and down the sides of the torso while keeping the ribs from flaring, breathing evenly.
- Hold the position for 20 to 30 seconds, keeping the arms close to the ears.
- Lower the arms slowly back to the sides to release and unclasp the hands.
