Strength exercise
Shoulder Press Machine (Seated)
How to do it
- Sit in the shoulder press machine with the back flat against the pad and the seat height set so the handles sit level with the shoulders.
- Grip the handles with hands just outside shoulder width and plant the feet flat on the floor.
- Brace the core and press the handles straight overhead, driving through the shoulders until the arms are extended without locking the elbows hard.
- Lower the handles back down under control until the elbows sit just below shoulder height.
- Exhale on the press up and inhale on the way down.
- Keep the head neutral and avoid arching the lower back off the pad to finish the rep.
