Strength exercise
Kettlebell High Pull
How to do it
- Stand with feet shoulder width apart, kettlebell on the floor between the feet, and hinge down to grip the handle.
- Hike the kettlebell back slightly then drive through the hips to snap it upward in front of the body.
- As the kettlebell rises, pull the elbow up and out to the side, leading with the elbow above the wrist to bring the handle to chest height, working the shoulders and trapezius.
- Let the shoulders and trapezius drive the top of the pull rather than muscling it up with the arm alone.
- Exhale as the kettlebell reaches chest height and inhale as it lowers back toward the floor.
- Keep the kettlebell close to the body through the entire path rather than letting it swing away from the torso.
