Strength exercise

Frog Jump

How to do it

  1. Squat down low with the knees pushed out wide and the hands resting on the floor between your feet, holding a light weight against your chest if adding load.
  2. Brace the core and keep the chest lifted, loading the quadriceps and gluteus maximus in the bottom squat position.
  3. Explode upward and forward off both feet, extending through the hips and knees to jump the body forward.
  4. Drive off the balls of the feet and through the calves at the top of each jump for maximum distance.
  5. Land softly on both feet at the same time, bending the knees immediately back into the low squat to absorb the impact.
  6. Reset the wide stance and repeat the jump in a continuous rhythm, exhaling on each takeoff.
